The house offers double rooms, a studio and a suite, from 25 to 55 m², all designed for two guests. Each one has air conditioning, a wall fan, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom and a small kitchenette for making a simple meal or a coffee. A former fishing village, Trou aux Biches is less commercial than Grand Baie, and several beach restaurants are just a few dozen metres from the house. The village's shops are a few minutes' walk away, while Belle Mare and Flic en Flac are about 30 and 34 km away.
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is about 45 minutes away by road: a taxi or hire car is the easiest option, especially with luggage. By bus, allow about an hour and a half with a change in Port Louis, where buses to the north leave from the Immigration Square station; note that buses don't run in the evening, generally operating from 6:30 to 18:30 on the coast. Port Louis is 20 to 30 minutes away by car and Grand Baie less than ten. Parking is free on site, and check-in runs from 13:00 to 22:00: remember to let the property know your arrival time in advance.
Trou aux Biches beach, about two kilometres long and shaded by casuarina trees, is made for swimming in the lagoon and snorkelling over the reef, and it's known for its sunsets. Mont Choisy beach is 1.8 km away and Grand Baie beach 3.4 km. With children, the Mauritius Aquarium in Pointe aux Piments shows more than 200 marine species. For a day inland, the Pamplemousses botanical garden, the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere, L'Aventure du Sucre museum and Château de Labourdonnais are all within 9 km. From May to October, the dry season brings the most settled weather; from January to March, the hot season coincides with the cyclone risk.
